“Why is my pc so slow?” is a question you won’t be asking for too much longer!

In those days of planned obsolescence, nothing is meant to last forever. This may not be the case with computer hardware, as in recent years these vital pieces of machinery are both becoming less expensive and also more durable.

Instead the problem for many people  is that the developments in computer technology are so rapid, both in terms of software and hardware, which means  many computer owners and operators feel compelled to rush out to buy the latest upgrades at the slightest excuse and often without good reason.

One of the reasons given is that “my pc is running slow, its time to buy a new one, or at least make a major upgrade.” This is a sad situation, especially in those times when money is getting tighter. And even more so when the reason that the pc runs slow, is that its registry is clogged up with useless files, and a variety of other unnecessary information, that has slowly reduced the operating efficiency to next to nothing. And all that is required to fix slow computer, which might have been destined for the scrapheap, was a nice piece of computer software that would cost less than the gas wasted to visit the nearest computer superstore.

Difficult though it may to believe, there are people who only use their computers sparingly, and they have no problem with their computers becoming gradually slower. To Microsoft’s eternal credit, the registry does a first class job gathering up all this largely useless information on the registry. It goes without saying that the more active a computer is, and the more users, then the more junk will accumulate and the sooner the computer will begin to slow down, and gradually move into crash situation.

The reason for this happening is that when operators either install software or hardware, change one of the many Windows configurations, any settings or preferences, the task of the registry is to record them. The task of the owner/operator is to remove them from time to time. However not many people were made aware of this fact, sparking off the slowing down problems. What brought this problem to the attention of many people in the industry was that the less traffic on the computer, the longer it took to begin to clog up.

Until recently, when these situations arose, people succeeded in convincing themselves that serious sums of money were required to be invested to restore the status quo. The truth is however that by investing a little time and even less money, it is possible to do a one off pc clean up, and that will restore the much berated “slow computer” to its glory days.

There are many registry clean up programs available online either as basic shareware programs or for sale at prices ranging between twenty to thirty dollars. These programs are designed principally to clean out the registry files, although they will carry out several other tasks, all of them beneficial to the computer’s performance.

It should not be forgotten that registry cleaners, the more powerful they are, the more aspects of the Windows operating system they are capable of cleaning. It is well worth the investment in time required to learn what this excellent piece of software can do for you, before pressing too many buttons.

It will be a wise person who, after carrying out the first and major registry clean out, will make a ritual  of going through the routine at  regular intervals to prevent any hint of computer slow down.
