“Why is my pc so slow?” is a question you won’t be asking for too much longer!

In those days of planned obsolescence, nothing is meant to last forever. This may not be the case with computer hardware, as in recent years these vital pieces of machinery are both becoming less expensive and also more durable.

Instead the problem for many people  is that the developments in computer technology are so rapid, both in terms of software and hardware, which means  many computer owners and operators feel compelled to rush out to buy the latest upgrades at the slightest excuse and often without good reason.

One of the reasons given is that “my pc is running slow, its time to buy a new one, or at least make a major upgrade.” This is a sad situation, especially in those times when money is getting tighter. And even more so when the reason that the pc runs slow, is that its registry is clogged up with useless files, and a variety of other unnecessary information, that has slowly reduced the operating efficiency to next to nothing. And all that is required to fix slow computer, which might have been destined for the scrapheap, was a nice piece of computer software that would cost less than the gas wasted to visit the nearest computer superstore.

Difficult though it may to believe, there are people who only use their computers sparingly, and they have no problem with their computers becoming gradually slower. To Microsoft’s eternal credit, the registry does a first class job gathering up all this largely useless information on the registry. It goes without saying that the more active a computer is, and the more users, then the more junk will accumulate and the sooner the computer will begin to slow down, and gradually move into crash situation.

The reason for this happening is that when operators either install software or hardware, change one of the many Windows configurations, any settings or preferences, the task of the registry is to record them. The task of the owner/operator is to remove them from time to time. However not many people were made aware of this fact, sparking off the slowing down problems. What brought this problem to the attention of many people in the industry was that the less traffic on the computer, the longer it took to begin to clog up.

Until recently, when these situations arose, people succeeded in convincing themselves that serious sums of money were required to be invested to restore the status quo. The truth is however that by investing a little time and even less money, it is possible to do a one off pc clean up, and that will restore the much berated “slow computer” to its glory days.

There are many registry clean up programs available online either as basic shareware programs or for sale at prices ranging between twenty to thirty dollars. These programs are designed principally to clean out the registry files, although they will carry out several other tasks, all of them beneficial to the computer’s performance.

It should not be forgotten that registry cleaners, the more powerful they are, the more aspects of the Windows operating system they are capable of cleaning. It is well worth the investment in time required to learn what this excellent piece of software can do for you, before pressing too many buttons.

It will be a wise person who, after carrying out the first and major registry clean out, will make a ritual  of going through the routine at  regular intervals to prevent any hint of computer slow down.

How to cope with a pc running very slow.

It is said that people who spend a lot of their day on a computer, either in the pursuit of pleasure or an income, gradually begin to form a sort of love hate relationship with their pc. They forget that it is neither a toy nor a plaything, it has no feelings, does not experience pain or emotion. In fact, difficult though is it to admit, it is a series of inanimate objects that can be operated or disabled at the flick of a switch. Yet when we have problems with our computer, we immediately lose track of all these facts, and enter into a form of cold panic and craving for the return of the  power or the escapism that the computer provides us.

In recent years, computer operators have had to face up to a whole new problem. Not with  the shock of a  sudden breakdown but with the need to fix slow pcs that seems to be a very worrying phenomena occurring over the last few years. People who take the time to ask themselves and those around them “why is my pc slow” are discovering that this is neither a bug or a virus, or the need to optimize pc software to enable their computer to operate faster. All they need to do is clean out their registry cleaner and fix registry errors that may be contained there in order to get their ship that sails the internet waves back to full speed.

The major stumbling block is that most people, until they have their problem diagnosed for them, had no idea that their Windows operating system contained a registry, let alone where and how to find it.

Yet a stuffed up registry will gradually cause your computer to choke, and become really unstable. As we all know, computer instability brings with it stalling, jamming and falling. Anyone who has ever lost work created due to computer falling will never forget that sinking feeling and will do almost anything to prevent it happening again. Possibly as a result of the increased uploading and downloading activities that the modern computer is required to go through, registries are filling up really quickly and a user friendly solution is required to provide the average computer Joe easy access to their computer’s registry.

This software is now readily available online in either shareware versions or as more powerful and comprehensive version that needed to be paid for, but a really token price.

The first step to return the computer to normal service was to remove all the unwanted, outdated and useless files that had accumulated there. Once this was done, operators felt all the strength returning to their computers, and were determined never to let this happen again.

Computer owners and operators will soon get the feel of how to operate a registry cleaner and what they should expect from it.  Depending on traffic flowing through the computer, a regular registry clean and maintenance program should be established. Most people clean their registry every day, as it is a really simple operation, which takes just a few minutes.  Don’t forget that a professional registry cleaner will carry out several functions in addition to cleaning up the registry. However until the operator feels comfortable, the software providers will recommend to express caution at the risk of cleaning more than the registry. Online help is usually available to advice on how to operate the software.
